These are just a few questions I have been asked, so I thought I would share them with you.
How big (as in weight) does a Coton get? As an adult a Coton can be from 9 - 18 pounds. I would say the average would be 12 - 15 pounds, although Rin is a mere 10.4 pounds. They make a perfect lap dog. For other standards.
Are Cotons always white? Actually Rin is a Tri-Color Coton, She still has the Cream and scattered black hairs in her ears. She also has two cream colored spots on her back. All White Cotons are the most common, they may have Cream color on their ears. Black and White Cotons maintain their color throughout their life.
How long does the Coton live? The average age of a Coton is 16 years, but have been know to live as long as 19 years.
Is there any health concerns with a Coton? Like any breed there is always some concerns, but any defect is minimized by not inbreeding and a careful selection process, where all dogs, who are to be breed, go though health test that assure that the dog will not carry on any known defects.
What is the temperament of the Coton? Cotons are very easy going and are laid back. They can be active at times but enjoy the quiet time too. The puppies are all temperament tested prior to going to their forever homes.
