Cotons are hypo-allergic dogs! That is why our family chose this wonderful breed.  My daughter suffers from allergies and asthma, so it was important to find a dog that she could enjoy being around without any side affects. The Coton doesn't have fur, they have hair, which does occasionally fall out, just like human hair has a tendency of doing.  They are non-shedding, their hair has a cottony feel, which is where they get their name from (Coton, is french for Cotton). They are considered the royal dog of Madagascar, The royals could easily get their portraits done without having fur all over their them. They are a very intelligent breed and in my experience, easily trainable.

They are great with children of all sizes and a wonderful addition to a family of any size. They love attention and are equally fine with some quiet time.  They will be the first to welcome a family member coming home from work or school.

Rin actually walked on her hind legs (which is unique to the Coton Breed) to get this toy and then she reach out for it and grabbed it.

The Coton is a great lap dog and really enjoys 'Belly Rubs'.  They can be active at times and very playful.

Our Rin likes to run in circles one way and then will turn and run in the opposite direction.
